APG Workforce at Food with Purpose Expo
APG Workforce recently attended the Food with Purpose Expo, joining businesses, suppliers and industry professionals from across the food, poultry, pig and agriculture sectors.
Representing APG Workforce at the expo were Glenn, Kelly, Kim, Tammy, Brad and Natasa, who spent the week connecting with industry contacts, speaking with attendees and learning more about the key priorities shaping the food sector.
Connecting with the food industry
The expo provided a valuable opportunity to connect with people across the food industry, including familiar faces, existing contacts and new businesses.
Throughout the event, the APG Workforce team had conversations with attendees about workforce needs, industry challenges and the importance of reliable labour hire and recruitment support across food production, agriculture, poultry and related sectors.
These conversations also gave the team an opportunity to better understand what businesses are currently experiencing on the ground, from staffing requirements through to broader industry pressures.
A strong presence on the expo floor
The APG booth was set up with company information, brochures and branded merchandise for attendees to take away.
The team shared promotional bags filled with pens, snacks, brochures and other useful items. The chicken and pig stress balls quickly became a popular talking point, offering a fun and relevant way to engage with people across the event.
Branded items such as pens and stress balls also gave attendees something practical to take with them, helping keep APG Workforce visible beyond the expo itself.
Building conversations through giveaways
Across the expo, APG Workforce ran several raffles each day, with multiple winners receiving prizes such as picnic blankets, wine and charcuterie boards.
The raffles helped create a friendly and approachable way for attendees to visit the booth, meet the team and start conversations. They also provided a simple opportunity to learn more about who people were, what part of the industry they worked in and how APG Workforce may be able to support their business in the future.
Learning from key industry discussions
The team also attended conference sessions covering important topics relevant to the food industry.
Sessions included discussions around The Big Freeze charity initiative, as well as biosecurity across the poultry and pig industries. These insights helped reinforce the importance of understanding the sectors APG Workforce supports, including the compliance, safety and operational considerations that matter to businesses in food production and agriculture.
