R U OK? – A Friendly Reminder That Lasts All Year
R U OK? Day is a time to think about the people around us and take a moment to ask a simple question. It is not just about a single day in September, but about remembering to check in and support each other whenever it matters.
At APG Workforce, we like to bring this idea to life through activities that help our teams connect, relax, and focus on wellbeing. Recently, we ran a few events that showed how small gestures can make a big difference.
Coming together on site
Earlier this month, we hosted a BBQ for employees and APG casuals at one of our partnered sites. More than 100 raffle tickets were handed out, giving everyone a chance to win a self-care gift hamper.
The lucky winner was APG casual Jenny, who took home the prize. Beyond the raffle, the day was about slowing down, enjoying a meal together, and sharing a few laughs. Moments like these remind us how important it is to stay connected.
A self-care day in the office
Back at the office, the team enjoyed a self-care day. Everyone came in comfy clothes, put on face masks, and took time to relax and recharge. It was a simple way to support wellbeing and create a calm, positive atmosphere.
Why checking in matters
The heart of R U OK? is simple: ask, listen, and care.
-
A short conversation can make a real difference
-
Showing support lets people know they are not alone
-
Small acts of care build stronger, healthier workplaces and communities
These actions are important every day. Every check-in counts and can have a positive impact.
Keeping the message alive
Whether it is a team BBQ, a self-care day, or simply asking a colleague how they are doing, every little moment matters.
At APG Workforce, we encourage a culture where wellbeing, connection, and support are part of everyday life, not just on R U OK? Day. Sometimes, asking a simple question is all it takes to make a real difference.
